hahh.
dale and i kinda made a deal to do a quick entry, watch 'whose line' and slp at one.
hehh.
hahh
rushhhh...!

rockmaster XI.
novice and intermediate qualifying rounds.

yesterday [novice].
qualified sp guys.
eugene, aloy and i.
qualified sp gals.
jinli, carene, ayu and noni.

today [intermediate].
guys.
eugene and lenny.
gals.
jinli.

hahh.
carene and i got in the 9th position for the intermediate.
to qualify, we needed to be in the top 8 but we werent.
yet, we're happy.
why?
coz we dont wanna qualify since we want to concentrate on novice and not jeopardize our novice status.

now abt the routes.
the routes are on the tsunami, 45 degree, flat and 15 degree walls.
novice guys.

the first route was a piece of cake for me.

the 2nd route had me try 2 times to complete the route due to e crux which requires the climber to commit a horizontal dyno or a dynamic to a stretched position.
i chose in doing the dyno which i did not succeed at the first try.
but by securing the dyno on the second try and dynamically campus-ing the last two tiles at my disposal - a jug [i dyno-ed to] and a juggy pocket - to the ledge, i became the first to top the 2nd route.
only eugene and i completed this route.

the 3rd route was a balancing route.
no doubt coz it was on the flat wall.
the starting tile had me puzzled for abt 2 tries and abt 2minutes of my round.
i finally found an easy way to start and went for the next hold which is a jug.
the next hold is a slopy crimp tht stalled me for a few seconds to allow me to get a good grip.
the next tile is the bonus tile which is very slopy at the top and is best held by holding it with the right hand.
thn, the climber is supposed to balance his way through and finally stepping his left leg on the left sidewall.
from there, it just takes a step-up or two before the climber can finish on the ledge of the sidewall.
i didnt complete this route though.
the only two who completed this route were eugene and uzair.

on the last route, the starting tile was on the slab and the ending tile was on the 15 degree wall.
the crux of this route was the cross from the bonus tile - a slightly slopy pinch - on the 15 degree wall to a small but nice crimp.
thn, all i had to do was drop my right knee and reached for the ending tile which was a small horn.

overall.
i flashed 2 routes and topped 1.
flashed routes 1 & 4.
topped route 2 with 2 attempts.
and i wasted 3 or 4 attempts on route 3.

thts for the novice.
stay tuned for the intermediate highlights or something.
cya.
